BALMORAL PARK RESERVE

Public BBQ

Balmoral Park Reserve sits quietly on Bennett Street, offering families a practical slice of suburban recreation. The BBQ area features well-positioned undercover picnic tables that provide welcome shade during those inevitable Australian summer scorchers - though one does wonder why council planners seem to think families only barbecue when it's already too hot to enjoy it outdoors. The children's play area keeps the little ones occupied while parents attempt the delicate dance of managing sausages and watching toddlers simultaneously. Tennis courts border the reserve, making it oddly convenient for those ambitious enough to combine family barbecues with sporting pursuits. Parking is available nearby, which in Australian suburban planning terms means "close enough that you won't need a sherpa to carry the esky."
